The 20th anniversary Charivari Day carnival was a hotly anticipated event and Folkestone street’s were lined with over 10,000 spectators along the route from Folkestone Harbour to The Leas bandstand.

This wonderful day of summer exuberance was reported by internet blogger TophillTripping following the event: … Saturday saw all the positive energy that the vibrant community could muster burst out onto the streets of Folkestone in a cacophony of colour and sound. Residents lined the pavements as drummers and dancers passed, and gathered in jovial droves to join the revelry at the bandstand on the Leas where the party continued long after the parade ended, with live music and picnickers making the most of a well timed moment of summer sun. – (
