“The skills I have learned through the making of costumes and props have proved invaluable to the teaching of art throughout the school, not to mention the quality of the displays we have been inspired to create within school.”
Jodie Sharpe, St. Eanswythe School
The Charivari Teachers Masterclass is a popular opportunity for teachers to be introduced to new materials and techniques. They work with an artist to produce a prototype costume, then retire with a glass of wine and a chance to socialise with colleagues. They leave with a materials kit to reproduce the costumes back in class.
We delivered a lantern masterclass with Aveley Primary School, as part of a whole school project, enabling the teachers to make lanterns with their classes and go on to teach other schools and local groups the skills, creating their own community lantern event.
