research & development
Good research opportunities allow the practicing artists in the company to develop their creativity, create new partnerships and build capacity.
Areas of research include socially inclusive practice, public/private space, the design and use of public space for community development and encouraging social behaviour, rather than trying to design out anti social behaviour.
Research visits in the UK and Europe allow us to connect with other artists, explore national and international best practice methodologies and use the insights and experienceto inform our own working practices.
We find that web 2.0 is a perfect addition to our participatory practices and are researching the use of digital platforms to increase engagement across all areas of our work – at events, in our gallery and with the diverse range of projects we are running at any one time.
