everywhere means something to someone
25 June - 20 August 2011
In an exhibition to support the guidebook, Georges House Gallery is being transformed into a sitting room to warmly welcome those who may be ‘A Million Miles from Home'.
Visitors can make themselves at home, have a cup of tea, and find out more about Folkestone from the guidebook and from the local contributors to the book, who will be invigilating the exhibition. The gallery will be a place for visitors to the town and local people to meet each other and continue to exchange stories about the town throughout the exhibition.
Everywhere Means Something to Someone - The People's Guidebook to Folkestone, is a Folkestone Triennial 2011 commission created by Strange Cargo. The 2011 Folkestone Triennial is curated by Andrea Schlieker.
Huge thanks to our sponsors: Arts Council England, Kent County Council, Shepway District Council, The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, Church and Dwight, Folkestone Town Council, Folkestone Estates, Remland Carpets and Timpsons Ltd.
